Douglas Education Center Covid-19 Campus Safety
Douglas Education Center is committed to providing safe and healthy facilities for our students, employees, and visitors to ensure the lowest likelihood of COVID-19 exposure while maintaining the highest level of educational capability.
Upon entering a DEC facility everyone is required to wear a mask, have their temperature taken via temperature verification kiosk or no contact thermometer and asked if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. Once a person is cleared to enter, they will be provided and must wear a color-coded wrist band.
Social distancing is required. Physical barriers and Plexiglas have been installed in numerous areas around campus. Modifications have been made to buildings to reduce traffic flow. Equipment and seating have been re-arranged to ensure social distancing. We have implemented Remote Control/Viewing Software in computer labs which eliminates the need for instructors to stand over students at computers while assisting them.
Many events have been postponed, cancelled, modified, or will be held virtually.
New cleaning and disinfecting equipment are used daily. This includes the purchase of an Electrostatic Sprayer which uses a special cleaning solution designed to kill COVID-19 on surfaces.
We ask everybody on campus to follow the Governor’s latest COVID-19 orders both inside and outside of DEC buildings.
DEC is required to follow CDC and PA Department of Health Guidelines to maintain the lowest possibility of COVID-19 exposure.
