After certification is obtained, grads can apply can for licensure with the Pennsylvania State Board of Massage Therapy.
With DEC’s Massage Therapy program, students will learn hands-on techniques from Day 1 and receive a kit that includes an Oakworks Massage Table & Chair, bolster, holster, and uniform scrubs. The program will feature a student massage clinic where they will provide services to the general public.
Program Coordinator Joanna McElwain, who has been a licensed massage therapist since 2007, details the advantages students DEC’s Massage Therapy program will have based on the nature of the program and the variety of employment opportunities available to graduates.
“Students will benefit from this massage program because it’s a highly intensive hands-on (program); it also covers a variety of modalities that will reach clients of varying lifestyles.” – Joanna McElwain
