DEC’s Very Own Hip Hop Star

DEC’s Very Own Hip Hop Star

The spotlight is shining down on DEC student Blane Zentek who has been nominated for the Pittsburgh Underground Music Awards in the category of best live performance! “It’s pretty cool to be recognized and nominated as one of the City’s best underground talent,” said Zentek. “Being involved in the PUMAs is an honor words can’t describe.”

A hip-hop singer and songwriter, Zentek is a current student in DEC’s Natural Gas Extraction & Distribution Techniques Program. He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served in a 15-month tour in Iraq as a cavalry scout.

The PUMAs are organized by Pittsburgh music professionals to honor the artists of the area making strides in hip-hop, R&B, and pop genres. This year’s PUMAs will be held on Saturday, June 28 from 5-10 p.m. at the brand new, state-of-the-art Penn Hills Senior High School auditorium located at 309 Collins Drive – Penn Hills, PA  15235.

Good luck, Blane!
