ASSOCIATE IN SPECIALIZED BUSINESS DEGREE PROGRAM

Our film school at Douglas Education Center is looking for dynamic and creative individuals with a passion for storytelling. Working in the filmmaking industry requires many skills, including collaborating with multiple individuals to create meaningful stories and bring them to life.

At Douglas Education Center in Pennsylvania, students will have to opportunity to work alongside special make-up effects artists, sound designers, cinematographers, directors, video editors, and more.

While many filmmaking programs require four years of schooling, students can complete George A. Romero’s filmmaking courses in less than two years. Earning an associate’s degree in filmmaking can save you time and money, allowing students to obtain their degree and enter the workforce even quicker. Our intensive, 16-month program gives students the tools they need to understand every aspect of filmmaking, including directing, producing, sound, editing, and post-production standards. Our goal is to provide students with the skills to succeed in the filmmaking industry, giving them an outlet to explore their desire for storytelling through film.

Hands-On Filmmaking Experience

At Douglas Education Center, we dedicate ourselves to providing students with first-hand experience in their future careers. That’s why our filmmaking program utilizes the most advanced filming equipment and technology to keep students up-to-date with the most recent filmmaking practices. Our team of experienced teachers aims to give students a foundational and versatile understanding of all aspects of filmmaking. We equip our classrooms with many tools and resources to make it feel like a real film studio, including a theater, color & editing suites, sound stage, ADR & foley studio, make-up room, post production, and more.

Students will receive both in-class exercises and real filmmaking experience throughout their education. This will allow them to network with professionals and learn from instructors who have experience working in the film industry. Throughout your education, you will also watch video teachings from George A. Romero himself to learn about the ins and outs of the professional filmmaking world.
